Actually, in theory, full wave gives double the output frequency and less ripple than half wave. But yaar, the circuit diagram with that centre-tapped transformer and two diodes? I always got the connections backwards in my practical exam. The textbook answer is neat, but my hands only remember the shame of the silent voltmeter and the examiner's sigh, while my own ceiling fan's hum felt like a steadier AC supply than anything I ever built.
