Actually, tumour angiogenesis is when a tumour grows its own tangled blood vessels to feed itself, yaar. Anti-angiogenic drugs try to starve it by blocking the signals for that growth. But in my clinic, I see the real cost—these drugs are brutally expensive, and for many of my patients from the villages, that monthly bill hurts more than the disease sometimes. I measure success not just in shrunken scans, but in whether a farmer can sell his rice crop to afford the next dose without his family going hungry.
