After architecture, more of my batchmates are working in corporate roles in Bangalore than at drafting tables. COA registration is needed to call yourself an architect, but not to work in a design firm doing visualisations or project management. The real job market pays better for software skills applied to buildings than for traditional practice, at least for now. I use more BIM software than I ever did charcoal, and my 'site visits' are video calls — entho nallappetta parippuvada sambhavam!
