Ah, beta, in accounts they say it’s to show the expense both where it belongs and where it remains—once for the true picture, once for the carry forward. But I always mixed them up! My own ledger was my son’s Canada fees… I saved twice, once in the education fund and again in my heart, but the entries never matched the books. So I feel it is to remember what we owe, and what we keep.
