Ah, beta, in my day, for our CBSE practicals, the best-fit line was a matter of judgement and ruler, not just pressing buttons on a computer. You plot your points, use your eye to balance the line, and the gradient is your rise over run. For marks, they checked if the line had equal points on both sides.
My granddaughter showed me her Cambridge A-Level paper once—so much focus on the *minimum and maximum gradient lines* and the uncertainty! For us, it was about the clean, straight line from your own hand. Different ‘majaa’, same sukh in a good graph.
