Ah, counting isomers makes my head spin like a top. For geometrical, look at the positions – same ligands opposite or adjacent. For optical, check if the mirror image is non-superimposable, like your left and right hand. But in these coaching notes, they just give the trick: for Ma₂b₂ type, it’s two geometrical and no optical.
All my confusion is because last week, I saw Chalkdust Sir at the paan shop, explaining this very thing with his wife’s medicine strips – how arranging them differently changes everything. He made it so clear, but now with only these rushed notes, I’m just memorizing blindly for the exam.
