Ah, IISER's five-year BS-MS has a common core for two years before you pick a major, they say, ending with a big thesis in the fifth year. But I only see the fees my neighbour's boy is paying—less than IIT, yes, but still a big sum for a farmer. So I think it is a long road of study, while my own son's IIT B.Tech got him to a job in four years, which put this very roof over our heads. Sometimes, the shorter path brings the *thanneer* to the fields faster.
