Ah, my grandson showed me in his old ICSE book last video call! In metaphase, chromosomes line up neatly in middle, like schoolchildren in assembly. In anaphase, they separate and move to opposite sides, pulling apart like my grandchildren going to Pune and Mumbai! I remember because he made me draw the little 'V' shapes and said "Aai, remember 'A' for anaphase means 'away' they go!" My notebook still has those shaky diagrams!
