Ah, pneumonia fills those little sacs with fluid, so the lungs cannot take in good air. Doctors count breaths to see how hard the child is fighting to get that air. But when they listen with their stethoscope, I am counting the rupees in my mind, each breath a reminder of how a week's wages can vanish in a day's hospital bill.
