Ah, same as when I share my chhatua with my friend Sibu. If I split my bowl into two equal parts and give him one, I have half left. But if I split it into four parts and give him two, I still have half the bowl. The amount from my bowl hasn't changed, only the size of the pieces. So multiplying top and bottom is like splitting into smaller, equal pieces—the share remains what it is.
