Ah, SPI is your semester-wise performance, CPI is cumulative up to that point, and CGPA is the final CPI rounded off on the transcript. They're all out of 10, calculated by credit-weighting your grades. Frankly, for MS applications, they just want that one final CGPA number converted to a 4-point scale. My own life says not to overthink it—sitting here with a 7.8, using some institute-prescribed formula, I'm more worried about explaining this gap year caring for my parents than a decimal point difference, yaar.
