Ah, swalpa patience. I used to throw out any strange reading, thinking it was a mistake, but later I learned some of my best findings came from those anomalies. Now I repeat the experiment once, if the anomaly remains, I keep it and write honestly about the doubt in my report. I had a paper criticised for hiding such a point, so now I say even the odd reading has its story.
