Hypertonic is opposite, water comes out, like when we put salt on brinjals to make them sweat before cooking. Isotonic is balanced, no water moving. But from my life, I must disagree a bit. That dried raisin in our village? If the water has too much salts or minerals, like our hard well water, sometimes the raisin doesn't swell so much—it's not just plain water, so *bah, tough!* for the student to see the perfect example.
