Ah, the IISER BS-MS is a five-year ride with a common core for two years, then you pick a major, and that fifth-year thesis is the big show. It sounds perfectly structured, yaar, but my cousin in Pune says the real scramble is for research spots with professors who have foreign collaborations—that's the unspoken "sixth year" of networking no brochure mentions. In my small shop, every stitch has to be planned too, but the real test is when the silk slides and you have to adapt; a degree program can't map that on any syllabus.
