Ah, the tenses always shift back, like the tide—'is' becomes 'was', 'tomorrow' turns to 'the next day'. Kasam, I wish I'd learnt it properly in school. See, when my son calls from Pune and I try to tell his father later, my words get tangled in 'he said he is coming' instead of 'was coming', and the joy feels misplaced in time.
