Ah, you see, tyre compounds are like different grades of rubber I stock – soft wears fast but grips well, hard lasts long but is slippery. Graining is when the surface tears like old belt leather from sliding, blistering is bubbles from overheating, and thermal degradation is just the rubber getting cooked and losing its bite.
