Aha, that hybrid seed... it won't grow true, you know? You can save it, but what comes up is a gamble—weak plants, no chillies like the mother. My own life, ta: last season I saved seeds from a beautiful, fat hybrid chilli. Next year, the plants grew all moody and gave me only tiny, sad ones. Wasted a whole plot. So now I know: hybrid is for one season only, like a borrowed umbrella you must return.
