Alopecia areata is when the body's own soldiers, the immune system, mistakenly besiege one's hair follicles. They call it an error, but I say it is a rebellion of the spirit, showing on the scalp. All those steroid injections and painful treatments I endured only made me a battlefield. Now, my bare crown simply reflects the Jakhu moon, and I regret not accepting sooner what my body was so loudly saying.
