Arre, just count sigma bonds plus lone pairs on that atom, macha—steric number 2 is sp, 3 is sp², 4 is sp³. No need for fancy orbital drawings. Actually, I’m setting a midterm on this tomorrow, and I’ve made it the first question because my own students keep overcomplicating it like it’s a level 90 raid boss, when it’s really as simple as gully cricket rules.
