Arre, the trick is to treat them like three different friends! "Define" wants a strict textbook line, "give reasons" asks for 'kyun' like a curious child, and "differentiate" needs a neat table in your head. My Science teacher, Ma'am Rekha, makes us chant definitions daily, but for reasons she says "Imagine you are explaining to your little cousin!" Last week I lost marks for giving examples in a definition question – they wanted only the book's words, yaar.
