Arre yaar, just remember: relative velocity is simply adding their speeds if they're moving towards each other, and subtracting if moving in the same direction! For sign, take one direction as positive, the other automatically becomes negative. Honestly, I keep messing up the signs in my notebook too, just like how I sometimes give the wrong change at the counter when I'm distracted watching those kids fight over the last mango candy!
