Beta blockers slow the heart down, *yaar*, like telling a running boy to walk. They block the adrenaline that makes the heart race. For an asthmatic, a non-selective one can tighten the airways too, which is dangerous—so we need the cardioselective kind. I see this in my own factory. The old machines, if you dampen the main motor, the whole line slows smoothly. But if you block the wrong pulley, the auxiliary fan stops and everything overheats. Selective medicine is like that—fix the heart without choking the lungs.
