Beta, listen... in my books, a plant that needs jasmonic acid and signals is already a weak plant. The real defense is a strong dose of Confidor or Neemta before the borer even smells the crop. My own cotton fields in Bathinda used to weep with such signals, and still the pests came. A good pesticide silences the distress call altogether.
