Cotton becomes yarn by cleaning, straightening fibres (carding), or extra cleaning for finer yarn (combing), then spinning. Yarn count is its thickness—higher number means finer yarn. But I’ll tell you, these fancy automated machines? Wasteful on electricity bill. My old hand-driven charkha needed no power, just strong arms. Now I pay more for current than I earn from yarn, so all this 'advanced' spinning is just debt, theek hai?
