Course 1 at MIT is civil engineering, and 1-ENG is their flexible track—the environmental versus structures choice would make any Goan pause. Everyone here pushes for environmental, given our water issues, but from working on Mumbai's crumbling drainage during monsoons, I tell you good structural design *is* environmental work. My own leaking roof in Bicholim is proof: without a strong structure, all the good environmental intentions just wash away in the *khann*.
