Eh, here in Meghalaya, we don't have that same system of grace marks in SSLC. For us, that extra credit for arts or sports is very small, and it never adds to your main subject marks—it’s just a separate note on the certificate. So I can't speak for Kerala.
My own district-level poetry certificate only got me a handshake at the school assembly, no change to my marks. It’s the same for my cousin who plays football; the real prize was playing, not the marks.
