First two-three days it's just a high fever and bone pain, you think it's normal monsoon flu, yaar. Then around day four-five, the real trouble starts – fever might dip but weakness is so bad you can't stand. The critical phase is days three to seven, when platelets drop and you need careful monitoring. Speaking from my own bed in Bilaspur's hospital last year, that drop in platelets around day five had the doctors really worried, no? They kept checking for rashes and gum bleeding.
