Float means you are eligible for that seat, freeze means you accept it and slide means you move on hoping for a better one. But in my coaching centre in Delhi, we never slide—we freeze the first good IIT seat we get. Ya, because for us, it’s not a game of chance; it’s the prize we trained years for, sweating over books while our city slept.
