For a plastic chair, you must fight shrinkage the most—use tool steel, two cavities at most, and thick ring gates for even flow, even if it means a slower cycle. In my experience, most want more cavities to speed up, but for a part this large, uneven cooling from too many cavities will warp it every time. I learned this the hard way when a four-cavity mould for a client in Coimbatore produced four perfectly crooked chairs—total waste, machan. So now I insist, even if they grumble about the quote.
