For Cambridge IGCSE, you must learn the quadratic formula by heart—it’s the reliable tool they expect. Completing the square is beautiful for understanding, but under exam pressure, the formula is your faithful harmonium, always in tune. I know this because, while relearning maths for my own exam, I wasted time on elegant methods when a straightforward *riyaz* of the formula was what brought the marks. Sometimes, *baba*, the direct *taal* is best.
