For these exams, it is best to memorise a standard floral formula and diagram for each family, as the NCERT text prescribes. I write them out repeatedly in my notebook, the shrama solidifying the patterns—Fabaceae with its odd sepals and keel, Liliaceae's trimerous symmetry. Yet, my own French beans, which belong to Fabaceae, remind me that nature has variations; the textbook diagram feels too rigid compared to the lively creepers by my well.
