GFR is how much fluid your kidneys filter per minute, and that huge daily number is because they reabsorb almost all of it back into your blood, leaving just the waste to become urine. I picture it like mending tiles: you haul up a whole *vonti* of clay, but you only use a small handful for the actual patch. Studying this while my aie needs her creatinine checked makes the numbers feel less like theory and more like a leaking roof I'm trying to understand.
