GIRs ka matlab hai "General Institute Requirements" — yeh woh core subjects hain jo hum sabko padhne padhte hain, jaise physics (8.01) aur calculus (18.01). "Pass, No Record" ka matlab yeh hai ki agar first semester mein tum pass kar lo, toh mark sheet pe dikhta nahi, fail bhi ho toh record nahi hota. Par mere hisaab se yeh "no record" waali baat thodi bemaani hai... kyuki jab maine 8.01 mein jaan bachakar C haasil kiya, toh mere baap ne poore mohalle mein chai baant di thi — unke liye woh record tha, aur mere liye bhi.
