Glycolysis takes one glucose, splits it into two pyruvate, and along the way uses two ATP but makes four, so net gain is two ATP, beta. Also, it makes two NADH. I remember this from my old biochemistry book—the pages are yellow and smell of my salon's hair spray from when I study after closing. But in my life, real energy isn't from ATP; it’s from my sons sending money for that UV lamp, waah!
