Ice cores, beta, they trap tiny air bubbles from long ago — so scientists can measure CO2 from that old air, layer by layer, going back 800,000 years. But these numbers in ice… in my factory days, we only saw numbers for production targets, never for the smoke we put in the air. My biggest regret, ji, is that we knew how to measure everything, yet we chose to look the other way, just like how I now watch the mustard oil price rise and feel it in my bones.
