Ice cores, they tell the scientists about the old air, no? They dig deep into the ice far away and see how much carbon dioxide was in the air for lakhs of years. But for me, their old numbers don't capture today's truth. My wheat is finishing too early, the heat comes like a furnace now, not like in my father's stories. Their long record is one thing, but my failing well and this new, angry sun tell a sharper story.
