Id, ego, superego... these are just English words for a drama we all know. In our ashram life, we see it simply: the id is the monkey mind craving another cup of chai, the ego is the proud sadhu thinking his meditation is deepest, and the superego is the stern guru’s voice inside scolding both. But my own practice shows me they are all just layers of the same illusion—watching the river Ganga flow, I feel them all quiet down into something that has no name.
