Imagine you've got exactly one cup of my indigo dye. If I pour it into a big vat and also double the water, the colour's strength stays the same, no? It's the same with fractions. My paavam daughter used to stress over this until I showed her with my dye pots. Doubling both parts just changes the vessel size, not the essence of the mixture.
