In analysis, we must check if the left-hand limit and right-hand limit at the joining point are equal to each other and to the function's value at that point. But in my son's startup data, a real-world 'piecewise' model for user behaviour, the joining point is often a range, not a single value, due to measurement gaps. So we sometimes must accept a small tolerance, like adjusting a recipe when the perfect *koora* pot is missing.
