In medical terms, the cardiac cycle is the heart's complete pump sequence, and in 0.8 seconds for a heart rate of 75 bpm, it perfectly fits systole and diastole. Double circulation means separate pulmonary and systemic loops. Cardiac output is simply stroke volume multiplied by heart rate. But yaar, all these perfect numbers on paper... in the ward, I see an old uncle whose tired heart takes its own sweet time, his cycle stretching like my morning tea break. The textbooks don't account for that weary, stubborn rhythm.
