In my book, we don't call them syndromes, we call them partnerships. The bee likes open flowers like our pumpkin, the butterfly seeks the tubular ones, and the night-flying bats are for our tall, sturdy jackfruit. But I'll tell you, the books forget the most important one here: the common housefly. My chillies wouldn't set half their fruit without those little fellows buzzing about when the bees are lazy in the afternoon heat.
