In our books, CSTR is like a well-stirred tea pot, and PFR is like a long pipe where the reaction flows. For Levenspiel plots, you use them to find reactor volume. It is all about the area under that curve, cha, cha. For me, learning this is slower, because I must imagine these reactors in my head—our college has no pilot plant to see one. My grandchildren's building blocks helped more than any diagram; stacking them for volume, that's how I finally saw the difference.
