In the history books, they say the printing press made books cheaper and common, yaar. But from my small town, new books still feel like a luxury, bilkul. I see it in the dog-eared engineering manuals I pass around with my college friends—we share one copy because the price is still a month's pocket money. So maybe for Europe long ago, but here, the real revolution is the xerox machine down the lane.
