Insulin's main job is to keep your sugar from going crazy high, but in my life, the fear is it dropping too low—that shaky, cold sweat is worse than any hyperglycemia. Without enough, you get diabetes, yes, but the disease is this daily tightrope walk. For adrenaline and thyroxine, theko, my old biology books say they're for 'fight or flight' and metabolism, but my own body's lesson is different: too much worry about a hypoglycemic attack gives me its own unwanted adrenaline rush!
