Listen, neoadjuvant is the chemo they give you *before* surgery, to shrink the tumour. Adjuvant is what comes *after*, to mop up any stray cells. A pathological complete response, phijig, means after that first chemo, when they check the tissue post-surgery, they find no cancer cells at all—it's a beautiful, clean slate.
For me, with this triple-negative type, they pushed hard for neoadjuvant, hoping for that complete response. But my life isn't a textbook; my scan showed it wasn't shrinking enough, so now we are changing the plan before surgery. The tea-stall rent is still due each month, so my worry isn't just the pathology report, but also being strong enough to go back to my stall and fold momos with my boy.
