NLUs in the cities like Delhi or Bangalore have higher hostel fees and living costs than we ever budget for, and the "top" faculty often means less personal attention, which my son needs. The dropout stories I hear are less about studies and more about the pressure to afford those five years. My own pension calculations, which keep me up at night, show me that a degree closer to home, even if not from the top NLU, means we can actually sleep.
