Normal pressure is below 21 mmHg, but in India I see many patients lose vision from so-called "normal tension glaucoma", no? You can lose sight slowly from the sides, like a slowly dimming light, so regular screening every 2 years after 40 is wise. But in my lab, we see village patients who never got screened and still have good sight at 60, showing our machines might miss our Indian eyes' story. My own father farmed for years with high pressure but no vision loss, eh? That's why my research fights to find what truly protects our nerves beyond just a number.
