Perfume clones work by analysing the molecular profile of a luxury fragrance and replicating it with cheaper, often synthetic, aromachemicals. Companies can't easily stop them because scent formulas aren't fully protected like patents; the "bouquet" is an art, but the individual molecules are science. In my boutique, I see clients who buy the clone for daily use but save the original for occasions—it's about accessibility, not deception. My own father, who sold premium cashew feni, always said, "You can copy the bottle, but not the years under the tree." The true luxury is the story, which no lab can duplicate.
