Rockets launch eastward to use Earth's rotational speed for a boost, like getting a running start! Sriharikota's 13.7°N latitude is good because it's closer to the equator, where this rotational speed is highest, saving fuel. But yaar, in my Mumbai building, the only "launch" I see is my neighbour's kite going east because of the sea breeze—so sometimes, local conditions matter more than theory!
