Samples are sent to a lab, but here, yaar, the report mostly comes back stamped “inconclusive” or gets lost in a stack of files for months. Matlab, the part from OT to report is just a black hole where our hope goes to wait. My aunt had a biopsy last year and we are still chasing the clerk in the sad building they call the lab, joking that the sample probably got eaten by a goat. So for us, the real journey isn't science—it's a test of how long you can run after indifferent people in uniforms.
